Washing Machine Planter, Take 2

We're not the only ones who think that an old washing machine makes a nifty planter. Rae from Travels with Miranda sent a photo of this one she came across in Dawson City, Yukon. Very, very cool. You should all mosey on over to Rae's blog to read how she's traveling the continent in a 31-foot RV with her two cats, Neelix and Tabitha.

I went back by there last night and discovered that the lady has a collection of washing machine planters! They all look so pretty with plants spilling out of them. I guess it's one of those decorating risks that pays off!

we are lucky to still have our washing machine planter. Joanne's father wanted, and tried a few times to throw it away. Thought it was an eyesore. I guess he just didn't understand shabby chic. His sister has a great yard, planters made from old work boots, a wire dress form, which I found for her at an estate sale, wheelbarrows, almost anything you can think of. I think it looks great! Joanne's dad didn't understand that yard either. Oh well, as they say "beauty is in the eye of the beholder!"
